Today on the blog we're sharing with you a story that hits close to home (pun intended!). Kelly (aka Lola) and her "Happy House" were featured in an article by Jesma Reynolds in the December/January issue of Walter Magazine and we have all the details behind the picture-perfect photoshoot done by Catherine Nguyen.

To help prepare for her home's big editorial debut, Kelly knew she could count on her long-time friend (and former M&L brand manager), Emily Bagley Johnson's keen talent in interior design. Emily, now an interior designer with Level 5 Designs, knew that she wanted to portray Kelly's love for color and character in every corner.

One of the main reasons Kelly was sold on her home was its potential for entertaining and hostessing. Complete with a quaint side courtyard, a "she-shed" off the back patio, and a spacious dining room, she knew it would be the perfect place to throw many parties.

On the cover of this issue of Walter you'll find a picture of Kelly and friends sipping champagne and enjoying conversation in the side courtyard. The flower arrangements on the table and throughout her home were provided courtesy of Logan's One Stop Garden Shop and created exactly the visual aesthetic she wanted to achieve.
It's no surprise that Kelly has accumulated quite an impressive jewelry collection both through her adventures for Moon & Lola and archival pieces from the company's first years. From patches and pins to designer baubles, Kelly truly has jewelry of every shape, size, style, and color. One of her most famous sayings is "When you run out of room in your jewelry box, you make a jewelry cabinet!" ... and that is exactly what she did.
Organization was key when it came to bringing the jewelry cabinet plan to life, but the main goal was to also make it a beautiful way to display her collection as a reminder of wonderful memories along the way.
Stay tuned for a full post on how to organize your own jewelry box... or jewelry cabinet! In the mean time, you won't want to miss reading the full article featuring more pictures of Kelly's home and its story in the December/January issue of Walter Magazine.
