We love a good movie here at M&L! Perhaps you remember last year's post all about our team's favorite rainy day movies? With wedding season in full swing and a few of our own brides-to-be getting prepared for their big days, we would love nothing more than to spend a Saturday watching allll the wedding movies. Keep reading to see which ones were named favorites by the ladies in our studio.
The Princess Bride, 1987
Katie S. (president): "Cannot even count how many times I've seen this one! I always had a crush on 'Westley' and his signature phrase 'as you wish' throughout the movie. It's a perfect fairy tale, packed with action and adventure."
Corpse Bride, 2005
Amber V. (retail director): "I love any Tim Burton movie but Corpse Bride is in my top 3. I am always in the mood to watch this movie because of the musical score, fun characters, and sly humor. "
Four Weddings And A Funeral, 1994
Four Weddings And A Funeral, 1994
Laura G. (ecommerce director): "I could watch this over and over! Every character is sublimely acted, the dialogue is perfection and the story takes me from laughing to crying. I love it when I stumble onto this being shown on some obscure TV channel on a Sunday afternoon...forget the chores, I'm snugglin' in for the duration!"
Jane M. (director of logistics and distribution): "Even though the main character isn't the bride in this film, it's still my favorite wedding movie. It depicts tough and very real family issues and then allows you to be a guest at an amazing wedding ceremony and after-party. Watching this tonight!"
Kate P. (wholesale director ): "Julia Roberts was one of my favorite actresses growing up. The cast and the soundtrack are amazing."
Ashley M: (marketing and brand manager): "It's just one of those movies that makes me laugh and cry, all in one. I love the story of friendship in this movie! I also love how it shows that life can bring many ups and downs but what joy can be brought to light in all circumstances."
Savannah B. (production manager): "This movie is a family favorite for me, even though we are not even close to Greek. I can't help but laugh out loud at everything in this movie. 'Put some Windex on it'".
Morgan M. (Apex Store Manager/Marketing and E-Commerce Assistant): "Ah, Father of the Bride is so '90's and I think that's why I love it so much. From the personality resemblance in my own dad to Steve Martin's character, George Banks, to the quotable and hilarious Franck (the wedding planner) - this movie gets five stars from me!"
Yuan Ling W. (production specialist): "I love Julie Andrews. She and Audrey Hepburn are my two favorite actresses. This movie is a classic about love, respect, faith and freedom. These things and cultural understanding are very important to me."
Brittany P. (Customer Experience Specialist): "With an all star cast (from Queen Meryl Streep to the adorable Colin Firth), a gorgeous setting, and the best of ABBA - what's not to love? A Mother/ Daughter story always gets me and I have dreamed of a romantic eclectic wedding like Sophie's ever since. P.S. Who's ready for the sequel?!"
